Sermons

A sermon is more than words on a page.  It is something that happens in a specific time and place and involves the preacher’s voice, the congregation that is gathered on that day, and the presence of the Holy Spirit.  At Grace & St. Peter’s there are several ways that a sermon is prepared for Sunday morning.  Sometimes, the entire sermon is written down beforehand, and the preacher follows the words on the page.  Other times, the sermon is preached from just an outline, a few notes, or even no notes at all – although this involves just as much preparation as writing it out in advance.  Below, there are just a few of the sermons that were written out in their entirety.  These are here just as a ”sample” to give you an idea of what words you might hear in a sermon at Grace and St. Peter’s.
